Sunny day again

I haven't made any cards for a few days but the weather was so lovely again today I thought I would take the dog for a nice run (he runs, I walk!). He started out running like a dog possessed for a few minutes then alternated between running around and having a lovely sniff around. Sadly we had to cut the fun short because the council came along to cut the grass so we carried on and went for a walk instead -
I'm not going to look at you!
Still not going to look at you!
I know there's rabbits here somewhere
Is she calling me to give me food?
No, it's time to go :(

A day out in Plymouth

It was such a lovely day yesterday I decided to go with my eldest grandaughter onto Plymouth Hoe, it was boiling hot already by 9am! We started out by sitting by Smeatons Tower and looking out to sea at the boats going by -

My reason for going on the Hoe was to find and photograph the names of three of my ancestors who had died in the last war, their names are among thousands on the Naval Memorial there. Luckily I had their plaque numbers so was able to find them easily -

After having a lovely ice-cream on the Barbican we strolled across the footbridge and went into the Aquarium which is the largest aquarium in the UK. I took some photos and here are a few of them -

Seahorses first, my grandaughter loves these and I have to say, they are very sweet

Say 'Cheese!', a shark giving me a lovely? toothy grin

Clown Fish, always so pretty to see

Sleeping octopus, yesterday was the first time we have seen him as he's usually hidden in some rocks!

Jellyfish, these always look stunning!

Anemone, very pretty.

As usual I didn't get the names of anything I took pictures of :-( hopefully I will remember next time!

More white cards

I have made some more cards for the dogs, I've done some more 'white' and 'white with a touch of colour' cards as I do like these a lot. I have used the medium flower die from Britannia Dies for all the flowers and the small, medium and large Poinsettia dies for the leaves also from Britannia Dies.

These are Just For You -

These two are With Love -

This one is On Your Day -

and this last one is a Thank You -

Blue Reef Aquarium day out.

On May 1st my grandson Riley had his first birthday, we were asked if we wanted to go to Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay with his mum (my daughter), dad, big sister and a couple of their friends. Of course we said we would love to go!
We all had a lovely day and even managed to go on the beach for a little while.
As usual I have taken photos without noting what the fish are but here are a few of my favourite pictures -

This lovely chappie greets you before you go into see the fish.

Two starfish -

Two cuttlefish, strange looking but I like them -

This shrimp is beautiful (apologies for my finger in the corner of the picture though) -

This is one strange looking fish!

One of my grandaughters favourites -

This colours of this starfish are stunning!

Weird but pretty -

These were a gorgeous bright blue colour, brighter than they look in this picture -

Corals and anemones -

Hermit crab saying hello -

If you get the chance to go to the Blue Reef Aquarium take it, it's a lovely place.

Red flowers and embossing.

I like these new ones, the red is lovely against the white background. All the flowers are from the Britannia Dies small flower die. The embossing folder I used is from X-Cut and is called 'Delicate Flourishes', very pretty.

This embossing folder is by Sizzix - Butterflies and Dragonflies. The leaves are from Britannia Dies - Poinsettia.

This last embossing folder is also by Sizzix and is called Swirls. Everywhere I have looked I have found 'Swirls' and 'Butterflies and Dragonflies' sold as a 2 pack together. This leaf die is the large Poinsettia by Britannia Dies.

One for the men

Finally I've done one for the men. It's a lovely summery Hawaiian shirt , pizza and beer all from Printable Heaven. It would probably be perfect for my son as he loves pizza, enjoys the occasional beer and I can see him wearing this shirt haha
Here it is -

The background paper is a lovely denim...just perfect for a man and I have gone for a nice glossy black 'Happy Birthday' peel off.
I have made two of these cards and I have a couple with check shirts to make. I need to find something else for the men but I haven't found anything yet.

Window cards

I have spent this morning finishing off four of my favourite cards to make using the window die from Sizzix. I can spend hours on Paint Shop Pro making up little scenes to go inside the windows. I know a lot of people using these dies make an outdoor scene to go behind the window but I like to make an indoor one.
This first one has the lady of the house photographing her pet puppy sitting on her sofa, there is a fishtank in the background and on the wall is a photograph of my old Border Collie - Amber.

This next one has the lady taking a picture of her toddler who she has dressed up like a flower. The fish tank is in the background and the photo on the wall is of another Border Collie, DeeDee, who I fostered for a few years until her sad death.

This next one has her photographing her baby in the high chair with the family dogs in front of her. Again I have used the fish tank and a picture of DeeDee on the wall.

This last one has her taking a picture of a vase of yellow roses she has been given and the picture on the wall is of my dog Gilbert.

Shoes

Three more for the dogs -

I love this shoe die. The backing I had to make myself because I couldn't find anything else that I  liked. I think I might try playing with a bit of glitter the next time I make these, add a bit of glamour to them.

More for the dogs

Well the cards I made for the dogs just before Christmas sold so I am making some more for them and here are the first two -

I'm not sure whether I like this one yet or not so I'm going to stand it up and just look at it for a few days then I'll decide what to do with it, it's slowly growing on me though.

I definitely like this one and I'm going to try to do some more like it.

These are for the cat lovers, I have them in this colour (teal) and lilac and they're both gorgeous. I have made two of the little kitty cat ones and four of the big cat ones -

. They are from Printable Heaven as are the dog ones below -

I have made just one of the little puppy ones and three of the ones with the big and small dogs. I also have these in pink which I am going to make another day.

Not a bad couple of days work, twelve cards and I've still got lots I want to do :-)

More swaps

This card was for another 'Anystyle' swap for a Yahoo group. I really like the way this one turned out.

The backing paper I made on Paint Shop Pro as I couldn't find one I really liked anywhere. The shoes are from Tattered Lace and were a free gift on one of the craft magazines!
I love the quote but I read recently that Marilyn Monroe may not have actually said it.

This card was for a 'Sweets, cakes etc' swap and I fell in love with the cute little cupcakes as soon as I saw them.

The embossing folder is one I have had for a few years but rarely use, it came free with my Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine

I have also been printing and downloading more from Printable Heaven they have so many gorgeous things on there, all I need now is the time to make it all.
